Strong sales, varied offering and 44,323 visitors at 31st edition
InterClassics Maastricht 2026 looks back on a successful edition that set a new visitor record. A total of 44,323 buyers and enthusiasts visited the 31st edition of the classic car fair at MECC Maastricht. These visitor figures solidify InterClassics’ position as one of the leading classic car fairs in Europe. The event kicked off on Wednesday evening with more than 700 visitors attending the sold-out Preview Night. In addition to higher visitor numbers, the show floor was the scene of lively sales. Cars changed owners at numerous stands, with several transactions even surpassing the one million euro mark. From iconic classics and highly sought-after youngtimers to ultra-exclusive modern sports cars, the collectible cars market showed its best side in Maastricht. Visitors were treated to the Legends of the Rising Sun theme: an exhibition featuring the best and most beautiful Japanese cars ever made. The 1955 Fiat 8V Berlinetta PininFarina was awarded ‘Best of Show’.
Legends of the Rising Sun theme a success
The main theme Legends of the Rising Sun, which highlighted 100 years of Japanese automotive history, was well received. The diversity in the Japanese car world appealed to a broad audience.
David Donovan of British dealer DD Classics, a newcomer at the Maastricht fair, views the theme as a bull’s eye: ‘The Japanese built exceptionally interesting cars, constantly pushing technological boundaries and delivering unparalleled quality. They really changed the playing field, forcing American and European manufacturers to raise the bar just to keep up.’
The Englishman is also enthusiastic about the level of visitors at the classic car fair: ‘An unusual amount of interesting people attend the event; true connoisseurs and lovers of classic cars. Everyone is so passionate about cars and knows exactly what they’re talking about.’
Supercar Foyer draws massive crowd
The new Supercar Foyer proved to be an absolute star attraction and played an important part in the success of this edition. A first-time participant in InterClassics Maastricht, Ferrari Munsterhuis made its debut in this new area.
Jeroen Berendsen, Ferrari Classic Consultant at Munsterhuis, responds enthusiastically: ‘If you look at the Supercar Foyer, it’s obvious that this is on another level. More supercars, more extremes and more visitors than ever!’
With a record number of visitors, strong international interest and a show floor buzzing with business, InterClassics Maastricht 2026 underscores its growth and relevance. The successful introduction of the Supercar Foyer and the focus on both classics and modern collector cars prove that the event continues to innovate without losing its identity as a classic car fair.
