In de beginjaren van de 24 Uur van Le Mans was Bentley het meest succesvolle merk. Het won in die tijd vijf keer (1924, 1927-1930). De aller eerste 24 Uur van Le Mans in 1923 was Bentley al prominent aanwezig. Met een 3-Litre werd de vierde plek bemachtigd door het duo Duff en Clement, een jaar later wonnen ze de race. Zelfs naast de Bentley 4,5-Litre en de latere Speed Six bleek de 3-Litre een betrouwbare endurance racewagen die dan ook een lange race-carrière zou krijgen met talloze klinkende overwinningen op beroemde circuits

Founded in 1916, Nash Motors Company was one of the many automobile manufacturers based in the American city of Kenosha.

Advertised with the slogan ‘Give the customer more than he has paid for,’ the brand came to represent cars with an excellent price-performance ratio.

Mass production was in full swing in the 1930s, but the 1932 Nash 998 Phaeton was an exclusive departure from this. Offering seven seats, the Phaeton was generous in size and most models had a six-cylinder engine; the 998 had an eight-cylinder inline engine with dual ignition. Given that only 13 units were produced, it’s rare to see one of these cars.
