The first was responsible for the construction of fast Fords and the production of parts for tuning existing models from the Ford program. The second had to sell the fast Fords. That year, the Ford Escort RS 1600 was announced with a 1,600cc 16-valve under the hood and a power of 120 hp for the street version. The racing version initially produced 160 hp, later increasing to 240 hp for the 2,000 cc version.
