De Ferrari 250 reeks werd van 1952 t/m 1964 gebouwd en was zeer uiteenlopend. Van hardcore racewagens tot sportieve GT’s. Ze hebben allemaal één belangrijke overeenkomst: de 2,953 cc V12 ontworpen door Gioacchino Colombo. De 250 MM werd voorgegaan door de 250 S, een experimenteel prototype waarmee Ferrari prompt de Mille Miglia van 1952 won. Dit succes werd gevierd in de naam van de 250 MM (Mille Miglia). De auto was 50 kg zwaarder dan de 250 S, het vermogen lag echter 10 pk hoger. Dit bracht de 250 MM op een totaal van 240 pk op 850 kilo.

La gamme Ferrari 250 a été construite de 1952 à 1964 et était très diversifiée. Elle allait de la voiture de course pure et dure à la GT sportive. Elles avaient toutes un élément important en commun : le V12 de 2 953 cm3 conçu par Gioacchino Colombo. La 250 MM a été précédée par la 250 S, un prototype expérimental avec lequel Ferrari a rapidement remporté le Mille Miglia 1952. Ce succès a été célébré dans le nom de la 250 MM (Mille Miglia). La voiture était plus lourde de 50 kg par rapport à la 250 S, mais sa puissance était supérieure de 10 ch. Cela portait la 250 MM à un total de 240 ch pour 850 kg.

The Ferrari 250 range was built from 1952 to 1964 and was very diverse. Ranging from hardcore racing cars to sporty GTs. They all had one important element in common: the 2,953cc V12 designed by Gioacchino Colombo. The 250 MM was preceded by the 250 S, an experimental prototype with which Ferrari promptly won the 1952 Mille Miglia. This success was celebrated in the name of the 250 MM (Mille Miglia). The car was 50 kg heavier compared to the 250 S, but its power output was 10 hp higher. This brought the 250 MM to a total of 240 hp on 850 kg. It was also the first Ferrari with air outlets behind the front wheels. A styling detail that many Ferraris will carry with them.
