Deze BMW Arrows A3 is uit 1980. Dit nieuwe model voor Arrows was compact en was opgebouwd rond een nieuw monocoque chassis. En dat in combinatie met de beproefde Ford V8 Cosworth DFV, hetgeen hem wel een concurrent maakte in het toenmalig deelnemersveld.

Arrows had de rijders Jochen Mass en Riccardo Patrese aangetrokken voor het seizoen van 1980 en ook de lucrative sponsordeal met Warnsteiner werd voor dat 2 de seizoen verlengt.

Dit tentoongestelde exemplaar was van Riccardo Patrese en heeft ermee deelgenomen op Zandvoort. Motorproblemen hebben hem uit de race gehaald in ronde 29. Is wel 9 de geworden in het algemeen eindklassement dat jaar.

This one on display belonged to Riccardo Patrese and competed with it at Zandvoort. Engine problems took it out of the race on lap 29. Did finish 9th in the overall final standings that year.
